Function of role
To supervise groups undertaking activities in low-risk (front country) outdoor environments. They will be able to operate in paid or voluntary roles under supervision, working within set parameters

Most in this role will be passionate about the outdoors, will have little experience, and may be in the process of being trained
Many businesses are challenged to train staff who have little or no experience
Many camps or guiding/scouting groups engage or encourage leaders to enter into a role such as this
